Patrick Garza & April Weber

On September 3, 2002, 21 year old Patrick Joseph Garza and 20 year old April Leann Weber were gunned down in the parking lot of a Quick Stop on Fremont Street in Stockton, CA. April Weber died near a pay phone in the parking lot and Joseph Garza was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police believe the two victims were in the wrong place at the wrong time and were caught in the crossfire of another crime. A witness reported seeing two men jump into a vehicle after the shots were fired and into a dark car parked near a closed veterinary clinic. Surveillance footage from the Quick Stop also showed two men but their faces were not visible.

Another unsolved homicide that occurred nearby was linked to this one by ballistics. And in recent years another piece of evidence is being looked at. At the scene of the crime, in the parking lot of the Quik Stop was a bottle of beer standing upright and still cold. DNA tests were done by Stockton Detectives and while they haven’t been released a match was found.

Detectives believe the murders of Patrick Garza and April Weber are connected to gang violence and continue to look for their killer or killers.

Garza and Weber had been together for two years. They left behind family and loved ones. Garza loved to draw, listen to music and camping trips to Woodward Reservoir in Oakdale, CA. Weber left behind her mother in California and her son from a previous relationship.
