Justin Vega, a 25 year old Sacramento man was hit while on his bike on his way home at 11 PM on Thursday May 25th, 2017. He was riding to work at a brand new job at FedEX on Elder Creek Road in Sacramento when he was hit from behind. The drive did not stop and his body was not found until four hours later. Antoinette Aguire, his sister, will say “To hit somebody and not stop. To know that you hit them, and didn’t stop. That could have changed the whole situation.” Her frustrations stem from the idea that a phone call might have saved her brother's life. “If anybody called — even if you did it and you called, and said, ‘I saw a car accident.’ Anything. It could have saved his life,” she said. She became worried when her brother did not return from working the graveyard shift. She called in but they had said that Justin had neve clocked in but that they had heard something about an accident down the road. That is when Antoinette drove to the accident site and saw authorities cleaning up the accident and removing her brother's bike. His family remembered him as someone who always had solid advice for his friends, who they jokingly called “The Beast” for his willingness to always step up to a challenge.
