Toevluchtsoord van de heiligen

Those who wish to call themselves Christians should think seriously about what "being a Christian" really means.

Being a Christian is not just an empty title that can cover anything. If one wants to be a Christian, one must want to be a follower of the true Christ, not a Christ fabricated through the ages by a series of theologians.

Zij die zich Christen willen noemen moeten ernstig nadenken ver wat "Christen zijn" echt inhoudt.

Christen zijn is niet zo maar een loze titel die van alles kan dekken. Als men Christen wil zijn moet men een volgeling van de ware Christus willen zijn, niet van een christus die door de eeuwen gefabriceerd is geworden door een reeks theologen.

In the previous chapter we have seen that people have to make a choice. They have to decide where they want to belong to or where to stand. They have to decide if that want to belong to this world and to the majority or major churches which worship a Trinity, or to belong to the minority with the Churches of God where they worship only One True God Who is One.

Those fearing God more than men know they should only keep to the worship of That Almighty One Unseen or Invisible God. They do not mind choosing like Jesus to do only the Will of God. Therefore, they are eager to know, the Will of the Most High, the Elohim Hashem Jehovah. As such they choose to have no part nor lot in Babylon's civil, social or religious organizations.

Those who have made the Most High their refuge need not fear the approach of such times. He shall cover them with his feathers, and under his wings shall they trust; yea, he will show them His salvation. As the wildest confusion approaches they may comfort their hearts with the blessed assurance that

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

"Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed [though the present social order be entirely overthrown]; and though the mountains [kingdoms] be carried into the midst of the sea [overwhelmed in anarchy]; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled; though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof."

God will be in the midst of his faithful saints, who make him their refuge, and they shall not be moved. God will help Zion early in the Millennial morning; she shall be "accounted worthy to escape all those things coming upon the world." Psa. 46; Luke 21:36

In het vorige hoofdstuk hebben we gezien dat mensen een keuze moeten maken. Ze moeten beslissen waar ze bij willen horen of waar ze willen staan. Ze moeten beslissen of ze bij deze wereld willen horen en bij de meerderheid of grote kerken die een Drie-eenheid aanbidden, of om tot de minderheid te behoren met de kerken van God, waar zij slechts één ware God aanbidden die één is.

Degenen die God meer vrezen dan mensen, weten dat ze zich alleen aan de aanbidding van die Almachtige Ene Ongeziene of Onzichtbare God moeten houden. Ze vinden het niet erg om net als Jezus te kiezen om alleen de wil van God te doen. Daarom willen ze graag de Wil van de Allerhoogste, de Elohim Hashem Jehovah, weten. Als zodanig kiezen ze ervoor om geen deel of lot te hebben in Babylons burgerlijke, sociale of religieuze organisaties.

Degenen die tot de Allerhoogste hun toevlucht hebben genomen, hoeven niet bang te zijn voor de nadering van zulke tijden. Hij zal ze bedekken met zijn veren, en onder zijn vleugels zullen ze vertrouwen; ja, hij zal hun Zijn redding tonen. Als de grootste verwarring dichterbij komt, kunnen ze hun hart troosten met de gezegende verzekering dat

"God is onze toevlucht en kracht, een zeer aanwezige hulp in moeilijkheden. "

'Daarom zullen we niet vrezen, hoewel de aarde wordt verwijderd [hoewel de huidige sociale orde volledig wordt omvergeworpen]; en hoewel de bergen [koninkrijken] midden in de zee worden gedragen [overweldigd door anarchie]; hoewel de wateren ervan brullen en verontrust zijn, hoewel de bergen beven van hun zwelling."

God zal te midden van zijn trouwe heiligen zijn, die hem tot hun toevlucht maken, en zij zullen niet bewogen geraken. God zal Zion helpen in het begin van de duizendjarige ochtend; zij zal "waardig worden geacht te ontsnappen aan al die dingen die over de wereld komen". Psa. 46; Lukas 21:36

The Church is an especially called-out class.

“Ye are not of the world, even as I am not of the world,”

said the Master.

“I have chosen you out of the world.”

Mankind in general are in a different heart attitude from those who come into the true Church. It is only the minority who now hunger and thirst after righteousness. God in mercy keeps back the Truth from those to whom it would not in the present time be a blessing. This class that the Lord is now calling out from the world are

“called to be saints.”

The word saint stands for one who is holy (or set apart). The word holy has the significance of the word whole – that which is entire, lacking nothing. God, who is holy, calls His children to be holy, saying, “Be ye holy, for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16.) But we were by nature unholy; hence His arrangement for our justification, our being made right, whole. The world in general will be made right during the Millennium. None is made right now in the actual sense. In what way, then, does God make the Church right now? Ah, there is the beauty of God’s Plan! They are made right reckonedly, by the counting to each of them of the perfect merit of Christ. This is a unique arrangement, peculiar to the present Age alone.

God says,

“My Call at this time is an invitation to a new nature. I am not inviting any now to Restitution; if so it would not be necessary to issue this special Call. I want a certain class for a specific purpose, to be used later in blessing the whole world. I know of some who will be glad to respond. So I am sending My Message, that those able to hear may hear.”

De kerk is een bijzonder geroepen klas.

"U bent niet van de wereld, net zoals ik niet van de wereld ben,"

zei de meester.

"Ik heb je uit de wereld gekozen."

De mensheid in het algemeen heeft een andere hartshouding dan degenen die tot de ware kerk komen. Het is alleen de minderheid die nu hongert en dorst naar gerechtigheid.God in genade houdt de Waarheid achter voor degenen voor wie het in de huidige tijd geen zegen zou zijn. Dit zijn de klassen die de Heer nu uit de wereld roept

"Geroepen om heiligen te zijn."

Het woord heilige staat voor iemand die heilig is (of apart gezet). Het woord heilig heeft de betekenis van het woord heel - dat wat heel is, niets ontbreekt. God, die heilig is, roept zijn kinderen om heilig te zijn, zeggende: "Weest heilig, want Ik ben heilig." (1 Petrus 1:16.) Maar wij waren van nature onheilig; vandaar zijn regeling voor onze rechtvaardiging, ons recht gemaakt worden, heel. De wereld in het algemeen zal tijdens het millennium recht gemaakt worden. Niets wordt op dit moment in de werkelijke zin recht gemaakt. Op welke manier maakt God dan de kerk op dit moment? Ah, daar is de schoonheid van Gods Plan! Ze worden naar rekening gebracht door voor elk van hen de volmaakte verdienste van Christus te tellen. Dit is een uniek arrangement, alleen al eigen aan het huidige tijdperk.

God zegt,

“Mijn oproep op dit moment is een uitnodiging voor een nieuwe natuur. Ik nodig nu niemand uit tot Restitutie; als dat het geval is, zou het niet nodig zijn deze speciale oproep te doen. Ik wil een bepaalde klas voor een specifiek doel, om later gebruikt te worden om de hele wereld tot zegen te zijn. Ik ken sommigen die graag zullen reageren.Dus ik zend Mijn Boodschap, opdat degenen die het kunnen horen, mogen horen.

The Bible assures us that the domination of this world by worldly governments will end. The Scriptures speak of a much better government that will last forever and bring peace to all.

But first we'll have to go through critical tough times, whereby those last days are related to Christ's second presence here on earth. The earth will have no end, but the present wicked system of things will.

“1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.” (2Ti 3:1-5 NIV)

“3 First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, "Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation."” (2Pe 3:3-4 NIV)

“He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.” (Ps 104:5 NIV)

“Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains for ever.” (Ec 1:4 NIV)

“But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge."” (Da 12:4 NIV)

“Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man."” (Lu 21:36 NIV)
