President's Message
September 22nd is the first day of fall and we begin our hard work to lead to a better community.
Our first Tea will be Saturday, September 26th and all the tickets have been sold! This fund raiser will not only help with our budget, it will also help to bring others into our Altrusa world.
Our meeting on Monday will be quite busy with a lot of business to discuss. June and Jennifer are bringing pizza for members to enjoy at the meeting and ask that members bring a drink to enjoy with the pizza. Please plan to arrive at Jo-Kell by 5:45 so we can begin our meeting at 6pm.

REACHing Out for Kids
Last July, Mariann's daughter, Jane, donated 380 used and new books and resources, to REACH, Inc. with had the donation credited to Altrusa of Tidewater.
The donation was greatly appreciated. From REACH: "We are grateful for your generous donation made up of 380 used and new books and resources. .... REACH, Inc. relies on the contributions of our community to break the cycle of poverty. .... Thank you for being part of our story. ... Thank you for your generosity and support. "

On August 15th, Cathy M. and Susan E., displayed some of their beautiful pieces of art on the walls of the Starving Artist Cafe, in West Ghent, Norfolk, while holding a pizza gathering across the street at Coogan's Pizza North. The family members and friends, neighbors, and Altrusa sisters who attended enjoyed the event.
August travels took Barbara S. to Chapel Hill for a Yoga class for her granddaughter Elizabeth’s graduation from Yoga Instructor Training. Elizabeth is pictured with one of her instructors. Elizabeth is a Junior at UNC majoring in Data Analysis.

Days for Girls Donations 2026-2027
In order to track material donations made to our international service project, Days for Girls, we have created the survey below. Material donations can be tracked individually or as a club - please be certain all members are aware of your club's tracking process to prevent duplicates. Please report donations made since 6/1/2026, and submit by 5/31/2027. The form can be found below, or on our website under the "Service" tab. Thank you for all you do for Days for Girls!
