Say YES to life and new possibilities. My world opens up when I say yes to life.
As we look at opportunities for service and new experiences, say YES! My youngest grandkids had a day where everything they asked had to be answered with YES. That could lead to chaos unless they had some knowledge and self-control. But we might all do well to plan a day or a time of saying YES.
As we look at the spring and the lessening of restrictions, let's say YES to trying new ways. Our plant sale is beginning this month and much of it can be done online. Say YES!
Our 2021 District Two Conference is all virtual so anyone can log in and participate. Watch for login information coming this month. It happens the last weekend of April! Say YES!
Continue doing personal service in the community and keep with the CDC guidelines for distance and masks. Let's look beyond all apparent obstacles and say YES to new ways of being and doing. We can share our club and its benefits with friends and neighbors.
There seems to be an air of hopeful energy and positive expectancy.
Keep saying YES!
Ellen

Hello All and I hope this message finds you all doing well.
March is here…Spring is just around the corner! I can’t wait to plant our flowers, hang our baskets, and mow the grass! Am I crazy??
March is Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day is March 8th! I wanted to learn a bit more about Women’s History, so I did some research. Please see a few pieces from an article written by CNN journalist, Ms. A.J. Willingham-
“March is National Women's History Month, but since women are pretty historic year-round, it begs the question: Why March? Is this month significant to women's history, or is it just an arbitrary month on the calendar?
The answer involves a little bit of history and a little bit of coincidence.
In the 1970's, local groups and municipalities began celebrating Women's History Week. According to the National Women's History Museum, one of the most notable celebrations was organized in Santa Rosa, California, by the Education Task Force of the Sonoma County Commission on the Status of Women in 1978.
According to the National Women's History Alliance, states began declaring the whole month of March as Women's History Month all the way up until 1986, when a more national push finally made headway. The following year, Congress declared March 1987 as the first official Women's History Month.”

I did a little more research in regards to The International Women’s Day. I visited their website and the theme for 2021 is Choose to Challenge!
“A challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day.
We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.
From challenge comes change, so let's all choose to challenge”.
Please check out their website at https://www.internationalwomensday.com/Theme
Please enjoy your day, your month of March, and until we are all together again…Stay Safe!

Judy has had combined cataract/glaucoma surgery on both eyes and is looking forward to spending time at her Ocracoke home following her post-surgery appointment on March 10. She will be able to have her COVID vaccine there shortly after arriving.
Barbara and Don were part of a Truffle Making Zoom class from Dandelion Chocolate Shop in San Francisco. The zoom class was a Christmas present from their daughter. Mary Shaffer sent the chocolate pieces, cocoa powder, cocoa bits and everything needed to make truffles except the milk and toppings. Barbara’s truffles are coated with pecan pieces, cocoa bits, Sugar n Spice Mix and a pumpkin. Twelve family members joined on 5 zoom screens across the US. Barbara has also been taking a zoom Culinary Literacy class “Other Uses for a Rotisserie Chicken” from a public library in No. Salem, NY. So far they have made Chicken Tortilla Soup. Enchiladas are next.
