Goodbye, November. Hello, December! This month is one of the few that feels both like a beginning and an ending. Our Bazaar was fantastic! We had an amazing display of all the talents of our Altrusa Sisters! A big “Thank you” to all who volunteered to make this annual event a success! The money raised will allow us to continue to share love, kindness, and support to our Hampton Roads families.
Although a pesky cold caused me to miss our Holiday Party, I know it was a wonderful time to gather together and enjoy the company of our Altrusa Sisters, families, and friends. In all our rushing, celebrating, and preparation, let’s try to slow down inside, right in the middle of it all! It is helpful to take time to reflect, remember, and rejoice.
As I close this message, I am reminded of the importance of this date, December 7th. Each year on Dec. 7th, Pearl Harbor Survivors, veterans, and visitors from all over the world come together to honor and remember the 2,403 service members and civilians who were killed during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Please remember and honor their memory. Many families had a loved one that was missing at their holiday table that year; their lives will never be forgotten.
Please have a pleasant, holiday season and we look forward to a new year!
All the Best,
Tracey
With the help of Altrusa members, stockings full of goodies for kids from 0 to 12 are ready for Santa’s delivery. Thank you!

The holidays will be a little brighter for children and families thanks to the donations of holiday gift cards. Instead of purchasing gifts, the Club bought $500 worth of gift cards for Target, Walmart, and Food Lion which can be used for those in immediate need of support.
JOIN THE CHALLENGE!
Altrusa International's Literacy Challenge
Altrusa International's President has challenged all clubs to think of ways to get books in the hands of children. Ellen has also challenged our club to donate 500 books this year. Right now, our club members have given 297 books to either REACH, Green Run Elementary or as gifts to family members or friends. Now besides service hours, District and International is asking clubs to keep a record of donated books I’ll keep a record of Club donations but ask you to keep a record of personal gifts or donations of books. We can include that number in our total. Looks like we’re off to a great start!

Annual Bazaar 2021
The annual bazaar held on December 4th was another success! Many of our talented members gave of their hearts by providing items made with love. Their effort is always a success! We all appreciate the hard work of each member to make the bazaar a success!
At the January meeting, we will hear from Sherral about how successful it was.
Again, thank you to all for everything you did to help with its success!
Carol created a short handout to give to customers at the bazaar, but can also be given to others that may be interested in Altrusa. Click here to download and print.
