January Meeting Location
I would like to begin with how successful our bazaar was. It appears we did as well as last year or a little more, $4300. A big thanks to Ellen's guidance as bazaar chair. It was great seeing Blanch, Carol and Scott. We also had a lot of fun!
We had an enjoyable holiday social on Monday, December 5th. It was nice to see Emily and her guest Gene, as well as all our other guests.
I hope you had a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Kwanzaa! Happy New Year!

Greetings Altrusans,
I hope this message finds you doing well. Here it is- the beginning of the winter holiday season! It is exciting to see lights go up and the making of new memories with family and friends! As celebrations and reunions begin, please take a moment to notice your neighbors. Maybe a neighbor who could use a helping hand with his/her yard, help with an errand, or just a simple wave “Hello”. The holiday season can be a wonderful time for some, but for others it can be a lonely time. As Altrusans, we always have empathy for those around us; being caring and giving are attributes that inspire the greatness of our “small but mighty” club!
Human Rights Day is celebrated on December 10th and supported by Altrusa International! Our club works very hard in the support of not just our Tidewater community, but to communities all around the globe! Through the sending of books, dresses, and Days for Girls kits around the world, we touch the hearts of people in need. We are always brainstorming new ways we can help, just another reason why I love each and every member of our club! Please see the link below to learn more about Human Rights Day: https://www.un.org/en/observances/human-rights-day
Wishing you and yours a very happy December!
All the Best,
Tracey
Service Hours: If you like to submit your service hours as you do them, Shari has added an updated form for this 22-23 club year. Service completed from June 1, 2022 to May 30, 2023 can be submitted on this form. You can access it from the website menu or click here.
Service Update:
During our annual holiday party on Dec. 5, 10 Salvation Army stockings were stuffed with goodies for boys ages 10-12. An assembly line of Altrusans and guests put toys, socks, personal hygiene items, and books in the stockings. The club allocated $200 for this worthwhile service project.
The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others.

Another year of fun working with the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore's Mayflower Marathon. Thank you to Robyn for organizing for us and for those that gave their time to this worthwhile effort.
June, Tracey, Jennifer, Robyn, Shari, Cindi, Cathy, Barb D., Lisa, and Kathy.
Thank you to Sherral, Marcy, Kathy, and Shari for trimming the tree at Lake Taylor on November 25th. It turned out beautifully! The tree will be un-trimmed on Thursday, December 29th.
Ways and Means
Our annual bazaar was very successful! Thank you to all who helped to make it a success!
