As I sit to write this letter, it is International Women’s Day! Today is a day to celebrate women’s contributions to the world and focus on the fight for equality.
Together, we have made great strides. Recent years have seen us gain hard-fought rights and increase the power of women. As Altrusans we are part of a proud history, but the best is yet to come, if we work together.
Especially against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine and the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, we must all rally together, raise our voices and take action to invest in women in fragile and conflict-affected areas - because they are the key to a peaceful future. And we want to continue moving toward our goal of making literacy and love of learning universal, across our area and our country.
As we come to the end of my two-year term as president, I hope each of you will seek ways to make a difference in your circle of influence. Working together, we can build a better community.

Greetings Altrusans!
I hope this message finds you all doing very well.
With Spring just a couple of weeks away, I am enjoying the thoughts of planting my geraniums and finding hanging baskets for my porch. Soon the smells of BBQ’s will be in the air!
Every year, during the month of March, we celebrate International Women’s Day. Tuesday, March 8, 2022 is a day to remember the important women in our lives! As sisters, we know far too well the gift of friendship and sisterhood. Please take a moment to browse through the website; here you find the theme for this year and the many amazing things women are doing in their communities, as well as women making an impact around the globe!

Wishing you all a wonderful beginning to Spring!
As always, thank you for being such a wonderful group of women!
All the Best,
Tracey
