Welcome to the Altrusa International District Two Service Newsletter
Pictures of helpers for No Sew Blankets project. We had lots of fun. We also had a drop off of Back to School products for the New Hope Ministries in Mechanicsburg.
In August, several Tidewater members volunteered at REACH - Reading Enriches All Children. REACH has a Big Book Store in our area that provides books for all ages. Our members sorted and labeled over 1500 books for REACH! Want to know more about REACH? Click here.
On July 20th, Tidewater dedicated a garden at the Jones and Cabacoy Veterans Care Center in Virginia Beach, VA. This garden, a sensory garden, allows those at the care center to enjoy the garden with all their senses. The dedication was in honor of a past member, Martha Frost, and her husband, Jack, who is a veteran himself. This project is continuing with our Garden Committee working on additional grants to continue its growth.
