beautiful oops

I wanted this piece to reflect emotion in the viewer and captivate them with the story that this face tells. Mystery is something that I value in art, I want the viewer to ask questions and feel with the emotions they see. 

I used mainly watercolor with gouache for highlights. I made layer after layer, watercolor is easy to mess up so I took my time. 

I wanted the face to be the main focus so I painted the neck and collarbone loosley. the hair I did in less layers than the face because i didn't want it to be so detailed that it distracted from the face. To add to the mystery I made the hair look wet or damp, I like the way the stringy hair complements the face.
