If you are asked to provide a screenshot for a technical support issue or to verify the completion of a task, the following instructions will walk you through taking a screenshot on your Mac or PC.
To take a picture of the screen and copy / paste into email
Click on the window where you are logged into Blackboard and with your Blackboard Syllabus and Course Information displayed on the screen
To take a picture of that screen, press Alt + Prt Sc (print screen button) or windows key print screen
This will copy the image to the Clipboard
Open your Start Menu and type "Paint." Open the Paint app.
Press Ctrl + V to paste your screenshot into the Paint window.
Click the File menu, hover your cursor over Save As, and click "JPEG picture."
Enter a name for the screenshot and select the folder you want to save it in, then click Save.
To select the area on the screen you want captured
Click on the window where you are logged into Blackboard and with your Blackboard Syllabus and Course Information displayed on the screen
To select an area of that screen, press the Command + 4 keys
You will be able to drag your mouse to select the part of the screen to take a picture
Let go, you will hear a click,
By default, the image is saved to your desktop titled, “Screen Shot Year-Month-Day at Time”
You can change the title by clicking once on the image title
The title will highlight, and you can type a new title
These instructions cover how to submit your screenshot attachment to an email using the GMail web browser interface.
Sign into your GMail account using your STCC username and password
Start to compose a message
At the bottom menu, select the paperclip button.
A window with all your folders and drives will open
Find and select the image from your desktop or screenshots folder
Select Open to attach the file
The name of the file will appear above the bottom menu bar
Add your recipients and subject line
Select Send to send email to your recipient
For your records, this email is located in your GMail sent folder.
