Challenge 1
Here is your first challenge.
Once you have decoded it, email me your work with a photograph or video and I will share it here.

Challenge 2
Ever seen an insect able to stand on top of the water? If you tried this, your body mass would be too strong and the surface of the water wouldn't be able to hold you up. So how does a bug do it? Any ideas?
Surface tension is an interesting part of understanding physics. You might like to research it a little further?
Anyway, give this experiment a go. It will help you see how water molecules can resist something that is denser than the water itself!
EXPERIMENT
Float a small piece of paper towel on the surface of the water. Gently place your paperclip flat on top of the paper towel.
The important thing here is to not break the surface of the water, because that is what is actually holding up the paper clip!
Initially, the paper towel is supporting the paper clip. As the paper towel absorbs water, it gets heavier and sinks, leaving the paperclip to “float” on top.
Water’s surface tension is strong enough to hold the paper clip. Touch it and break the surface tension, however, and the paper clip will sink immediately.
Challenge 3
All you need is:
3 pieces of A4 paper
Sticky tape
Ruler
NOTHING ELSE ALLOWED!
Challenge:
Make a foundation structure that supports at least (>10kg) 10kg of mass. Use books as your weight.
The books must be supported AT LEAST 20cm above the ground. And no, you can't use any other items except the paper, sticky tape and ruler.
