PE GRADE (ASSESSMENT)

PE Grade

You will be involved in the assessment process which looks into 3 components during PE lessons

Component 1 (60%): Skills Performance (2 Sports taught in that year)

Component 2 (30%) : Physical fitness (Based on NAPFA's score)

Component 3 (10%). Character / Learning Attitude

Note: PE Grade will be the main criteria in selecting students for O Level Exercise Sports Science (Upper Secondary) during the Sec 2 Streaming Exercise.

COMPONENTS AND WEIGHTAGE

What makes up the PE GRADE?

GAMES SKILLS (60%)

FITNESS, NAPFA (30%)

CHARACTER (10%)

Grade A: 75%

Your skills execution is smooth and precise. Your conceptual understanding and decision making in a game is strong and strategic.


You are physically active, very fit and contribute to the well-being of others. You are competent in a variety of PE activities/skills and demonstrate good sportsmanship.

GRADE B: ≥ 60%

Your skills execution is controlled. Your conceptual understanding and decision making in a game is appropriate in most situation.


You are responsible for your own well-being and physically active and fit. You are good in a variety of PE activities and enjoys team activities.

GRADE C: ≥ 50%

Your skills execution is developing and skill execution needs to be more consistent both during practice and game situation. Your conceptual understanding and decision making in a game is establishing in most situation.


You are fairly responsible for your own well-being and physically fit. You make some attempt to participate in PE activities and show some interest in team activities.

GRADE D: < 49%

You are still trying to master the skills execution which is still at the beginning stage. Your conceptual understanding and decision making in a game is unfamiliar and you have difficulty contributing during game-play.


You are fairly responsible for your own well-being. You need to take greater effort to participate in PE activities.

Note:

1. PE Assessment is conducted throughout the year.

2. You will be informed of your scores or grades.

3. PE Grade is only reflected in SA 2 for your report book. (After End of Year Exams)

4. Sec 1 and Sec 2 PE Grade will be used for those interested in taking up O Level Exercise and Sports Science (ESS).

5. O Level ESS is offered to both the Upper Sec, Express and Normal Academic Stream .
