Sports Fiesta Regulations
1. Handball will be played in a DOUBLE KNOCK-OUT format.
2. 7 a-side game, each game will last about 7 minutes with no interval in between.
3. All teams must report to the teacher-in-charge at least 10 minutes before the start of their game.
4. Each game lasts for 7 minutes, with no interval in between.
5. A minimum of 5 players is required to start a match. A walkover will be given to the opposing team if the minimum number of players is not present.
6. The players of both teams should be the same, i.e. 5v5, 6v6 (fair play)
7. All players must be properly attired for each game, i.e. PE attire (class t-shirt allowed)
8. The referee’s decision is final.
9. Disciplinary action will be taken on players who display undesirable behavior.
10. Any changes to the team should be communicated to the teacher-in-charge prior to the start of the competition. Changes made mid-way through the competition are NOT allowed.
11. Strictly no changes in the team after registration is allowed. *subjected to case by case basis*
Rules of the game
1. A coin will be tossed to decide which team starts the game with a throw off in the middle of the play area.
2. Players are to only have possession of the ball for a maximum of 3 seconds.
3. Players are allowed to dribble with both hands. (Allowed to switch hands)
4. Players are to only take a maximum of 3 steps while holding the ball; before or after dribbling.
5. Players are not allowed to touch the ball with a foot or leg below the knee, except when the ball has been thrown at the player by an opponent.
6. All players are not allowed to enter the semi circle area except for the goalkeeper.
7. When a player attempts a shot at the goal, he/she is not allowed to step into the semi-circle unless he/she have released the ball.
8. No double dribbling is allowed.
9. No intentional rough play is allowed; any rough play will result in fouling out of that particular player involved.
10. The goalkeeper is allowed to touch the ball with any part of his body while in the act of defense inside the goal area.
11. Substitutions of players may take place at any time and an unlimited number of times during the match.
12. To restart a play when a goal has been scored, the team who has lost that previous goal should start the ball at their goal line.
13. Any ball that is out of bounds should be played from the nearest side line where the ball went out.
14. In the event of a tie, 1 penalty shots will be given to each team to decide the eventual winner. ‘Sudden death’ rule apply in the event of tie even after the penalty shot.
