Outstanding Sportsmen of the courts!

Court 1

Isaac, Sec 2I5

His opponent tripped while trying to take the ball away from him. Subsequently, Isaac slowed down his play while dribbling the ball so that the opponent who tackled him earlier can recover. Isaac was trying to make sure the opponent was all right to continue playing.

Court 3

Ching Sian, Sec 2I2

When opponent fell, Ching Sian waited for her to get up and asked if she was ok before proceeding with the game. She had displayed graciousness in the the heat of competition.

Haziqah Binte Hanafi, Sec 2I3

She respectfully voice out mistakes and speaks politely to the other team in play. She cheers for both her team and opponents' team. She plays with great sportsmanship throughout all games.

Consistently played the game in the true spirit of sportsmanship. On several occasions, waited for opponent to go back to playing area before he re-starts the game.

She was very resilient. Despite her losses, she still didn't give up. She and her team still tried their best in every game. In the game she was still very cheerful and showed sportmanship as she both listened to the umpires and helped the opponent teams as well.

She encourages her teammates when games were lost and respected opponents in play. She display resilience in Game and never give up when the team was losing.

Zikry, sec 2I6

He abide by the rules at all times and followed the referee's call. Even when the referee gave him an advantage on one call when he accidentally tripped an opponent, he alerted the ref and helped the opponent up, then let the opponent have the ball instead because he admitted it was a wrong call.

Rules & Regulations- BASKETBALL

1. Half-court basketball will be played in a DOUBLE ROUND ROBIN format.

2. 5 a-side game, each game will last about 7 minutes with no interval in between.

3. All teams must report to the teacher-in-charge at least 10 minutes before the start of their game.

4. A minimum of 4 players is required to start a match. A walkover will be given to the opposing team if the minimum number of players is not present.

5. The players of both teams should be the same, i.e. 4v4,5v5 (fair play)

6. All players must be properly attired for each game, i.e. PE attire (class t-shirt allowed)

7. The referee’s decision is final.

8. Disciplinary action will be taken on players who display undesirable behavior.

9. Any changes to the team should be communicated to the teacher-in-charge prior to the start of the competition. Changes made mid-way through the competition are NOT allowed.

10. Strictly no changes in the team after registration is allowed. *subjected to case by case basis

Rules of the game

1. A coin will be tossed to decide which team starts the game in the middle of the court, outside the 3-pointer line.

2. 2 points scored for every successful shot within the 3-pointer line and 3 points scored if the shot is taken outside the 3-pointer line.

3. The team that did not score the points will restart the play at the starting mark.

4. All players can shoot into the basket.

5. When possession of the ball is turned over the team in possession shall play the ball beyond the 3-pointer line. A team member must catch or land with the ball with both feet on the ground past the 3-pointer line before continuing to play the ball back towards the goal. There will be no stop in play; the team having completed the crossing of the 3-pointer line may immediately continue playing the ball.

6. If a defending player tips or defects the ball it is not turnover unless the other team get possession.

7. Standard basketball rules apply (no travelling, no bouncing the ball with 2 hands, no dribbling-catch with two hands-dribble sequence, no rough play, etc.)

8. Any ball that is out of bounds should be played from the nearest side line where the ball went out.

9. In the event of a tie, a sudden death free throw will take place (boys will be from free throw line, girls will be from a designated mark in front of the free throw line).

10. 3 points awarded for winner of each match, 0 point for a loss.

Rules of the game

2. The team that conceded will restart the play at the kick-off mark.

3. All players can shoot at goal, with shots coming only after half way mark.

4. Standard football rules apply (no sliding tackles)

5. No goalkeepers during the game (no use of hands from any players).

6. In the event of a handball within the penalty area, a penalty kick from the designated penalty mark will be taken towards an open goal.

7. Any ball that is out of bounds should be played from the nearest side line where the ball went out with a kick-in.

8. In the event of a tie, a sudden death penalty kick will take place.

9. 3 points awarded for winner of each match, 0 point for a loss.
