RULES & REGULATIONS


Sports Fiesta Regulations

1. Street Netball will be played in a DOUBLE KNOCK-OUT format.

2. 5 a-side game, each game will last about 7 minutes with no interval in between.

3. All teams must report to the teacher-in-charge at least 10 minutes before the start of their game.

4. Each game lasts for 7 minutes, with no interval in between.

5. A minimum of 3 players is required to start a match. A walkover will be given to the opposing team if the minimum number of players is not present.

6. The players of both teams should be the same, i.e. 3v3, 4v4 (fair play)

7. All players must be properly attired for each game, i.e. PE attire (class t-shirt allowed)

8. The referee’s decision is final.

9. Disciplinary action will be taken on players who display undesirable behavior.

10. Any changes to the team should be communicated to the teacher-in-charge prior to the start of the competition. Changes made mid-way through the competition are NOT allowed.

11. Strictly no changes in the team after registration is allowed. *subjected to case by case basis

Rules of the game

1. A coin will be tossed to decide which team starts the game with a throw off in the middle of the play area.

2. The game will not stop for substitution to take place.

3. The team that did not score will start the play.

4. All players can shoot goals.

5. When possession of the ball is turned over the team in possession shall play the ball back over the transverse line. A team member must catch or land with the ball with both feet on the ground past the transverse line before continuing to play the ball back towards the goal. There will be no stop in play; the team having completed the crossing of the transverse line may immediately continue playing the ball.

6. If a defending player tips or deflects the ball it is not turnover unless the other team get possession.

7. Standard netball rules apply. (To note: A player attempting to intercept or defend the ball must be at least 3 feet or 0.9 metres away from the player with the ball. No stepping is allowed)

8. Players may move in any area of the court providing no more than two players from each team are in the goal zone at one time. A turnover foul will be called if there is more than 2 players in the semi circle.

9. Any ball that is out of bounds should be played from the nearest side line where the ball went out.

10. In the event of a tie, 1 penalty shots will be given to each team to decide the eventual winner. The Penalty shall be taken “5 Steps away” from the Netball Pole. In the event of a tie, the "Sudden Death" rule applies.
