The main building was where the bulk of the students were taught, those in the photo’s. They were taught woodwork etc. and then went on to work in the town's industries.

We, my classmates and I, were in what was called the "Commercial" stream. We were taught in the upper left hand side of the main building. There were some twenty students in this department, and we were taught book keeping , typing and shorthand.

To the North of the main building were two small separate buildings. To the right was the Hall and the Gym. and to the left was the Art School.

Few people there but we know one very talented boy - our friend of 92 yrs. Ron Turner, who lives in Derbyshire.

The headmistress was Miss Roberts. We also had a German woman who taught us German during the war years.
