Exercise Books of Ruth Langston 1938 /41

The following are random extracts from some the exercise books of Ruth Langston - written when she was a student at the Wycombe Technical Institute.

It must be said, that this is a "rare and unique opportunity" to view, via an electronic media, not only the subject matter during the above years, but also the fine example of "proper" handwriting.

Legible handwriting continued to be a "demand" at the Tech right up to the '60s. To put things in perspective for younger viewers, these were all written with pen and ink, and the original script as was first written, probably beyond comprehension for some of the younger generation nowadays.

In order for the following to be presented to you, a great deal of thanks must be acknowledged, to namely:- Marise Morland-Chapman for providing and allowing her Mother's books to be appreciated by so many, Richard Nash for his travels and efforts in digitising the contents, and Mike Dewey for his liaison and assistance to Marise.

It is with appreciation that the complete original books are to be archived by the John Hampden Grammar School, High Wycombe - should anyone wish to view the original books, please make arrangements with JHGS.

It may be noted that, given the period of writing during WW2 years, there is no reference or comment made in respect to the geopolitics of the time.

The following :- C1-History (6 pages), C3-History (5 pages), C2B-French (3 pages),
