I really do love eating
The things that I enjoy;
But time and life is fleeting
So control I must employ.
Time can be my worst enemy,
When I sometimes can be bored;
My mind then turns to recipes
For food that can be gorged.
At other times ‘tis for comfort
My inners I do fill;
I’ll swear the food’s triumphant
In breaking down my will.
But then it is I who suffer
The results of this indulgence;
And have to find a buffer
For my new circumference.
There are so many remedies
For what they call obesity;
To tone down ones extremities
And bring them back to decency.
If you are in this aim determined
Would be well to remember,
That even when your goal’s attained,
The problem leaves you never.
