When this virus is done and dusted,
And we hope that will be soon;
We will then have to get adjusted
To being out of our cocoon.
Will things we do be dissimilar
That were done before the lockdown?
Or will we adhere to what’s familiar
In case we cause a shakedown?
Will we rush to buy all those commodities
We could not buy in lockdown?
Or will our much depleted economy
Create a spending meltdown?
Will we still circulate our kindness
To those who still may need it?
Or will that reaction go into subsidence
And what then will supersede it?
We shall miss the wonderful tranquillity,
We’ve encountered in the streets;
Passing folk greeting us with civility
Keeping distant several feet.
Whatever our reaction
It’s sure we won’t forget,
This time of isolation
That our Government did set.
