Our friends have numerous grandchildren
Of which they are justly proud
With some the numbers building
They tell us clear and loud.
As the number of these progeny continue to astound
Those of us with just a few
Wonder how much more love could be found
If our grandchildren exceeded two
Our lives enriched with their presence
Abound with love and pride.
We look forward to their attendance
When to see us they decide.
It seems that whether two or twenty
These descendants have what is needed
To fill this time in our life aplenty
With everlasting love much heeded
We see in them our long lost youth
Which for us is just a memory
Now that we are both long in tooth
They fill our life with love that's complimentary
