I always took for granted
The things that I could do;
Nor did I think I was advantaged,
Though some will say it’s true.
Day to day activities
I did at quite a pace;
I undertook my proclivities
Like one in a race.
Now life for me is slower,
Although not at all by choice;
My height is even lower
And for this I don’t rejoice.
Those actions that came so easily,
Can be the cause of pain.
Good days of moving speedily
No longer do remain.
I therefore take advantage
Of all that is available;
And for my pocket attainable
For those of older age.
