My heart is heavy
I shall not cry!
Nor let this feeling take its levy;
For there are others worse than I.
In all this sadness
I should count my blessings;
Take my fill of a little gladness,
Leave behind all that’s stressing.
Hope in time the scales balancing
Will tip for better, not for worse;
Happiness become less challenging
Sadness I will no longer nurse.
Sorrow has but few companions,
That can be looked on to cheer me.
I must therefore leave this dark canyon,
For its there my friends will never be.
