Some chemical compounds can disrupt the endocrine system, causing reproductive and developmental dysfunctions. Potential endocrine disrupting compounds (EDs) adverse effects on humans and wildlife are a growing concern. Zebrafish are a highly used vertebrate in toxicology and ecotoxicology, and many ED toxicity data have been produced in recent years. The European project EU-ToxRisk brings international teams around replacing animal testing in toxicology with in vitro methods and mathematical models. In the project framework, the PhD objective is to develop mechanistic models of developmental and reproductive toxicity in zebrafish embryo (Danio rerio), and their simulations for predictive purposes, allowing to transpose to the human the results obtained in vitro.
