The daily use of radiofrequency telecommunications is increasing. To date there is no definitive conclusion regarding the potential effects of such exposures on health. After the skin and the ear, the brain is the organ most exposed by the waves entering the body (800 MHz (LTE 4G), 900 - 1800 MHz (2G), and 3.4 GHz (5G)) when using the phone close to the head.
In this thesis we will seek to replicate the previous results obtained in vivo and in vitro on 2G (Petitdant et al 2019; Mougin et al.). We will test cognition and examine perturbation of neurogenesis as a possible mechanism underlying cognitive abnormalities. The objective of this thesis will be to provide scientific knowledge on the potential toxicity of the massive use of radiofrequency telecommunications on living organisms.
