Testing and Verification
Verification of much of the ground station will be accomplished through ground-based tests on communication models. Remaining verification will occur through tests with in-orbit satellites having similar orbital parameters to the Iris mission.
The following will be verified through ground-based testing on communication models:
Unlinking of commands to the communications board.
Downlinking of telemetry data from the communications board.
The following will be verified through communication with in-orbit satellites:
Antenna pointing accuracy.
Tracking software capability.
Automation of telemetry downlinking.
