FlatSat Jig Assembly Plan

Required Tools:

  • Screwdriver with 0.050" Hex drive

  • Screwdriver with 5/64" Hex drive

Required Components:

  • 1x UMS-0548 - Rev 0 - Flatsat Jig plate

  • 4x UMS-0555 - 92196A079 socket head screws

  • 24x UMS-0554 - 93505A217 male-female hex standoffs

  • 24x UMS-0553 - 92949A077 button head screws

  • Printed Wire boards to be mounted

Assembly:

Main PWB Assembly

  1. Install the UMS-0554 male-female hex standoffs into the non-counter-bored holes until finger-tight. Make sure to install the standoffs on the OPPOSITE SIDE of the counter-bore, so that the counter-bore cannot be seen.

  2. Place the EM printed wire board onto the hex standoffs, so that the standoff's female threads can be seen through the four mounting holes near the board's corners.

  3. Using the screwdriver with a 0.050" Hex drive, fasten the EM PWB in place using four UMS-0553 - button head screws, until the fasteners are finger-tight. Torquing these fasteners is not necessary but do not over-tighten as this may damage the board or fastener-threads.

  4. Repeat 2 and 3 for all the boards you wish to mount.

  5. Using the screwdriver with a 0.050" Hex drive, install UMS-0553 - button head screws onto any remaining unused UMS-0554 male-female hex standoffs in the assembly, so that these fasteners are not lost and are available for use when needed.

Battery Saddle Assembly

  1. Ensure that any boards and other equipment on the top of the UMS-0548 - Rev 0 - Flatsat Jig plate are securely fastened or taped down.

  2. Turn the sample plate assembly onto its side so that the four counter-bored holes are visible.

  3. Place four UMS-0555 - 92196A079 socket head screws into the counter-bored holes.

  4. Using a Screwdriver with a 5/64" Hex drive, fasten the four UMS-0555 - 92196A079 socket head screws into the battery saddle until finger-tight. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!

  5. Place the flatsat jig back onto its bottom face.
