AIT Facility and GSE

Advanced Satellite Integration Facility (ASIF) Clean Room

The Advanced Satellite Integration Facility (ASIF) is a clean room co-owned by Magellan Aerospace, Winnipeg, and the University of Manitoba, and is shown in Figure 1. The ASIF is a class 100,000 clean-room that has been the same location that the three RADARSAT Constellation Mission (RCM) buses were assembled, integrated, and tested. The Iris team will be storing flight hardware and undertaking AIT activities inside the ASIF with the support and guidance of Magellan staff.

Magellan Aerospace will also allow the Iris team to use a vibration table, as shown in Figure 2. The vibration table specifications [2] meets all vibration test requirements as outlined by Nanoracks.

A thermal vacuum chamber (TVAC) is available for post-integration tests, and is shown in Figure 3. Magellan Aerospace confirmed that the TVAC is able to meet the required pressure and temperature ranges. An image capture of the confirmation email is provided in Figure 4.

Additionally, Magellan Aerospace has tools and accessories available that can be used for AIT activities, outlined in Table 1.
