AIT Series
This table shows a simplified schedule of the AI&T activities to be performed for the program. Line items are shown in the order that they will be performed, ie. module assembly occurs before the spacecraft is assembled. A detailed AI&T schedule outlining each test/assembly step to be performed and the expected duration will be developed as the design progresses into Phase B. This more accurate AI&T schedule will also include slack time on testing and assembly phases.
The AI&T budget can be divided into two major categories of line items: ground support equipment, which includes jigs, electronic equipment like harnesses and power supplies, and the shipping container, and facility costs for use of the clean room. It should be noted that the hours recorded for testing and assembly here only include activities that happen at the spacecraft-level. Costs incurred for any subsystem level assembly and testing are included in the budget for each respective subsystem. The exception to this is the thermal control subsystem, as the assembly of this subsystem must occur at the spacecraft level.
