Payload Sample ICD

The following tables include the payload sample candidates. The sample candidates have and will undergo a series of tests to verify them for the flight candidate list. Any samples that do not pass testing will be eliminated from the list. Several sample candidates have not yet been received by our vacuum sintering partner, CIRIMAT. Those samples are summarized in Table 3.

Table 1. Shows the payload sample candidates and the dimensions for the individual pellets. NOTE: Flight samples will be selected from the following candidates, pending vibration test results.

Sample Compositions

Table 2. Sample compositions of the sintered pellets are shown below. The samples were analyzed by X-ray fluorescence in powdered form before the sintering process. The compositional data of the major and minor elements are reported as percent oxide (%). The following samples have been received from CIRIMAT and includes the vacuum sintering temperature, pressure, and time.
