The Vibration Interface Plate (Rev 10) is designed to accept a number of parts and assemblies. The mounting patterns shown below can be re-used for other parts or assemblies. However, we can add new hole patterns as-needed.
All threaded hole patterns below are designed to use key-locking inserts (also known as keyserts). These inserts strengthen the threads used to mount parts and are highly encouraged for any new hole patterns.
NOTE: All dimensions are in inches unless stated otherwise.
The following pattern is used to mount the vibration interface plate to Magellan's vibration table. These are loose-fit through holes. Depending on the mass and volume of the assembly being vibration tested, not all through-holes will need to be used. Exercise caution and be careful when determining which mounting locations to use.
The following 8-32 threaded hole patterns are to mount the IRIS EM Sample Plate Assembly.
Note: Only 4 mounting holes are used at once.
The following 1/4-20 threaded hole patterns are to mount the UMSATS P-POD Deployer. There are two copies of the pattern, rotated 90 degrees with respect to each other, to allow the P-POD to be tested in both X and Y axis without removing the entire interface plate.
Note: The keyserts for this pattern have not yet been installed.
The following 6-32 threaded hole patterns and slots are to mount two UMSATS half shell modules. There are two copies of the pattern, to allow two half shells to be tested at once. The slots allow male half shells to be placed flush to the interface plate.
Note: The keyserts for this pattern have not yet been installed.
The following 10-32 threaded hole patterns and slots are to mount two UMSATS shell modules. There are two copies of the pattern, to allow two shells to be tested at once.
Note: The keyserts for this pattern have not yet been installed.
