Guide following

I am guilty of following the guides that accompany RPGs to the extent that I'm hardly playing the game myself. The reasons I do so are as follows:

• • I don't want to miss out on key hidden items that will make my PC stronger (and hence the game easier)

  • I don't want to die or get stuck and have to restart

My (and others) desire to use the guide can be reduced by adding more randomness and by de-emphasising character advancement.
