Platform

I'm not really a platform game player, but I do have some ideas for a platform game. The idea is loosely based on the game Worms II, but seeks to combine it with a platform game to give a linear feel. The player moves a single character across a level from left to right (like a platform game), and carries multiple different types of ranged and melee weapons (like Worms II). Enemies likewise have a mix of ranged and melee weapons. The maps are deformable by weapons and by placing girders (or equivalent). The enemies have bunkers that the player can go down into, killing more enemies but picking up new equipment, or skip.

The such a platform/artillery hybrid could be turn-based (like Worms II) or real time (like Liero).

It would be interesting to experiment with fog of war and fog of exploration in a platform environment.

It would also be interesting to bring in the Rube Goldberg elements I've talked about for artillery games.

I also have an idea for a level consisting of moving, shape changing and intermittently-being-on-fire platforms that the player has to navigate to get from one side of the level to another.
