Concepts

Concept of place

Most games, in echoing reality, involve a concept of place; objects have a particular position in the environment. That environment is typically two-dimensional or three-dimensional.

Games where the concept of place is important will typically provide maps to the player.

Concept of time

Most games, in echoing reality, involve the concept of time. Very abstract games may not, or may imply time very loosely.

Games where the concept of time is important will typically provide a clock, timer or turn-counter to the player.

Concept of movement

Tied with the concepts of place and time is the concept of movement. Objects in the game may move through space and time.

Again this concept echos reality.
