During dismissal time it is not unusual for changes to be called in at the last minute. It is imperative that the office is able to call into your room and get information to you and the child. Classrooms must remain quiet during dismissal.
- Make it a part of your morning routine to ask/check for notes from parents. Send all transportation notes (be sure they are dated) to the office each morning. The office will make a copy and put the original back in your box. Check your box before the end of the day.
- Bus passes and car passes are issued to students who are riding home on a different bus (or getting off at a different stop) and to students who are riding home with another student or being picked up by someone other than their normal ride.
- Bus passes and car passes are delivered to your classroom around 2:00 each afternoon.
- Transportation changes received by fax late in the day will be called into your room over the intercom so that both the student and teacher will hear the information.
- Please have a “Transportation Spot” somewhere in your classroom – preferably near the door. If you are not in your classroom when passes/notes are delivered – they will be left at your designated transportation spot.
- If a note is sent in for more than one day, keep it in your transportation spot until the LAST day it is effective.
- Keep a file of transportation notes.
