Assembly Programs

Assembly programs will be held in the gymnasium or auditorium. Please go over assembly manners with your students regularly. It is important for the staff to model the same behavior that we expect from our students. Please refrain from drinking beverages of any kind at the assembly programs.

• Teachers or assistants should accompany their class and remain with the class throughout the performance. If a performance is scheduled during P.E., Music, or other Specials/Exploratory, the special area teacher should accompany the class during the performance to assist with students, as well as the classroom teacher in most cases.
• Classes should be seated, orderly, and on time. The time scheduled is the time the program is to begin. Please have your students there about five minutes before the time scheduled.
• Children should remain seated and are not allowed to leave once the program begins (excluding emergencies and discipline).
• Teachers should leave work in the classroom. Children model the behavior they see. If the teacher is paying attention and enjoying the performance, they will likely do the same.

When the program is completed, children should depart from the performance quietly and orderly under the direction of the PE teacher.
