When a teacher anticipates being out of the building, he or she should provide a lesson plan that relevant to the scope and sequence of the current unit. Teachers should also maintain a reserve of three emergency plans that are relevant to the curriculum.
It is important for all classroom and special area teachers to keep a substitute folder, which should be easily accessible to sub. It should include the following:
- A daily and weekly schedule
- A seating chart or name tags
- A brief summary of important facts the substitute should be ware of to prevent management problems.
- Any medical information on students, i.e. those on medication that is administered at school, allergies or other medical problems.
- The grade book should not be available for viewing.
- Extra seatwork that is kept current.
- Discipline information and your classroom discipline plan.
- Directions to the emergency plan located in the acrylic pockets next to the door.
- DO NOT SAHRE YOUR INFINITE CAMPUS OR EMAIL PASSWORDS WITH SUBSTITUTES
