William Ivan Story worked with the Union Bank arriving from Gawler in July 1920, making visits from Victor Harbour where he was based. In 1929 he and his wife were transferred to Kingscote, and they were quite active with the community - golf, tennis, church fetes, school. the Literary and Debating Society, Back to Kangaroo Island Committee, the K.I. RSSILA and treasurer of the Kingscote Soldiers Memorial Park. In 1933 he was transferred to Millicent, afterwards other branches such as Naracoorte, Warracknabeal and Launceston.
