Dr. Pattison was on KI for seven years from 1930 until his death in 1937

Charles Richard Maitland PATTISON was born in Co. Cork in 1879.

The London Gazette of 5 November 1915 has him to be a temporary Lieutenant dated 1st August 1915. I am assuming this was the date of his enlistment in the Royal Army Medical Corps.

He was attached to 11th Casualty Clearing Station, 1st Garrison Battalion, Essex Regiment. The battalion arrived at Mudros Harbour on Lemnos Island on 3 September 1915 and served on Gallipoli before moving on to Egypt in February, 1916

On 10 June 1918 he was commissioned as Captain with 112 Squadron R.A.F. based at Throwley in Kent. The squadron flew Sopwith Pups, Camels and Snipes, defending London and the Thames estuary. The squadron was disbanded on 13 June 1919.

He was discharged with the rank of Major and qualified for the 1915 Star, the British War Medal and the Victory Medal. His obituary states that he was twice mentioned in despatches.

He died in Kingscote on 7 November 1937 after having spent seven years on KI as the resident medical officer.
