He enlisted on 26/4/1915 and was discharged on 26/11/17. He served mainly with 2nd Field Ambulance. He was gassed and went to England for treatment and furlough. He was still crook when he got home.
Penneshaw resident from ca1935 until his death and burial in Penneshaw Cemetery in 1955.
He is listed as a returned man at a function in Penneshaw as part of the Centenary celebrations on 11/11/1936 when the SA Governor was in attendance. He was captain of the Dudley Rifle Club. He was Chief Warden of the A. R. P. (Air Raid Precautions) during WW2. In 1947 he was a candidate for election to the Dudley District Council.
