Welcome to 96.5FM – Downtown, can we start with the following question
to produce and promote an outstanding high quality culturally diverse artistic program;
to provide vital connections, support structures and pathways that enable culturally diverse artists and communities to create exceptional art;
to engage in vibrant partnerships and cultural brokerages that engage, link, and connect with culturally diverse artists and communities that creates systemic change in the arts; and
to play a critical advocacy role in providing a forum, through the arts, to ensure acceptance and understanding of cultural diversity.
Multicultural Arts Victoria has a responsibility not only to multicultural artists and communities but also to the public at large in exposing them to all forms of art and cultural literacy. It is essential that we ensure access and participation and actively engage artists and communities from Non-English speaking backgrounds in the arts and celebrate cultural diversity as a State asset.
Multicultural Arts Victoria acknowledges that Indigenous Australians are the first people of this land. We pay our respects to all Indigenous people, past and present, and we recognise their continuing spiritual and cultural connection to the land.
Multicultural Arts Victoria embraces the principles of reconciliation and we have a strong commitment to respect Indigenous beliefs, values and customs as we learn from each other and build a future together.
