Cross Egypt Challenge 2013 :
9 days, 2,400km starting 8th Nov 2013, an endurance scooter rallies conducted throughout the most challenging roads and tracks in Egypt, a breathtaking experience that is equally fascinating for spectators and riders alike. Cross Egypt Challenge combines the best of adventure travel and extreme sport and gives everyone, whether a rider or spectator, the chance to experience Egypt like never before.
The launch of the 2013 season will take place on November 8th from Alexandria, Egypt, and this year’s all-new route will cover Egypt from North to South. In nine days, the participants will cross 2400 km of challenging highways, roads, alleys, trails and difficult terrains
Cross Egypt Challenge 2012:
8 days - 2,400km scooting from Cairo to Alexandria, then on route to the remote Western Oasis of Egypt.
October 2012, The official start line for the rally was in Abdeen square [ Abdeen Palace, one of Egypt’s presidential palaces ]
Sponsored by the Egyptian Department of Tourism and Transport, is a long-term vision of promoting scooters as an alternative environment-friendly means of transportation in Egypt and the assuring the safety of Tourists travelling in Egypt.
5 Oasis in the challenge,
Siwa : A huge sand dunes of what has become known as the “Great Sand Sea” and the mountain plateau of “Gilf Kebir”.
Farafra Oasis : The most isolated oasis in Egyptian desert
Bahariya oasis : The Black Desert is located just outside of Bahariya oasis, it is unlike any desert in the world, instead of sand it is formed of layers of black rocks smoothed by winds. A sharp contrast is the White Desert, 45 km north of Farafra. The desert has white, massive chalk rock formations and strange balancing of rocks on top of white pillars.
