96.5FM – Egyptian radio show [ Monday 2 October 2017 at 8:30pm]

Australian Film producer Mr Kim Beamish :

“The Tentmakers of Cairo is a story of a uniquely Egyptian art form and the men who create it. This is a film about everyday Egyptians not caught up in the turbulence that surrounds Tahrir Square but instead struggling to keep their businesses alive and their families fed.

In March of 2012 Kim Beamish arrived in Cairo with his wife and two children. His wife works for the Australian Embassy in Cairo and his children, both young, attend preschool.

Only days after arriving renowned Australian quilter, herself a former diplomatic spouse in Cairo, Jenny Bowker introduced Beamish to the stitchers in the Street of the Tentmakers, Chareh El Khiamiah.
