Jerry Guirguis interviews 3 Brown Sugars, Australian Comedians speaking to us Live-to-air from our studios, 96.5FM – Egyptian radio show [ Monday 21st March 2016, Melbourne Australia, English Edition, 9:30pm AEDT ].
Description
In this season of the Brown Sugar series, Henry He, Aidah Green and Lay-lah take over with the same flavours cooked up by Wayan Keenan and Vincent Tshaka in 2015. The laughs are rich with their individual takes on racism, acceptance and political correctness. Expect terse jokes which range between clean, whimsical, morbid, no-filter and a ‘flying close to the sun’ brand of humour.
Aidah Green went from promoting international comedy stars in Singapore to performing. She is the face of political correctness, which is non-existent in Asia. A no-filter, non-politically correct, cultural and ethnically diverse comedian who will captivate you!
Henry He is a new immigrant from China in a strange country, who performs comedy in English. He capitalises on racial, political and economic differences and on stage keeps the audience at constant giggle pitch - from clever riffs on his nationality to the oddness of Australian ways. Like Ronny Chieng, he is a funny lawyer!
Lay-lah from Lalor is the alter ego of character comedienne Yvonne Malik, performing a brand of clever, clean and cross cultural comedy. A misguided, greedy and materialistic housing estate princess from Lalor Fortress Heights, Lay-lah has also been known to break out into shockingly bad belly-dance routines, you have been warned!
