THE WELL

The mind's well-

the more

I empty it

the more

it fills

with emptiness

BLOSSOM

The first blossom

when over

the trees stand

in silence

as if

nothing happened.

LONELINESS

The lonelliness

that weighs upon me

Will you call it

yours too?

LETTERS

Glancing at old

letters of yours

the essence

of every line

filters

deep within me.

Once you wrote:

This moon looks lonely

without you...

Shall I send

a touch of the sun's warmth

that blooms on my body

morning and evening?

I don't remember

waht I wrote in reply.

But

since then

with each moment

I've been moving

deep within you

like the roots of the tree

that embraces tightly

the earth's womb

I CONVINCE

I convince myself

that you are not

far away from me.

When

the bare trees of winter

put forth tender green leaves

the soft touch of the moon

makes the mogari spread fragrance.

Like the Pipal tree,

in my blood

flutters the breath

you had once sown.

I convince myself

that you aren't

far away from me.

When the cuckoo

perched on the mango-tree

in the garden

hints at the arrival of spring

your wind-like hand

makes the pollen open

in every pore of my being,

and my poems

dream only of you.

I really know

that you are not

away from me.

LIPS

My lips, when they

bloom on yours,

your eyelids remain

softly closed.

But

every petal

of your soul then blooms full

in all ten directions

like the dawn of dreams.

THE HORIZON

To this tattered life of mine

will you put a few stitches?

The path is thorny

and my feet heavy as lead.

The pathway moves in circles

I do not know

where it begins

where it ends

But your distant sky's horizon

beckons me....
