Mary Poppins Reverse

Movie clips from the Disney Classic Mary Poppins Video have been restored to the original film direction and speed.

You need to create the video, as it looks in the movie. You will reverse the clips and make it look like the kid's nursery is being cleaned up with magic finger snaps! Your job!

Mary Poppins Reverse Edit

1. Create a NEW event File > New Event: Title it Mary Poppins

2. New iMovie project:

  • Name it: Mary Poppins-lastname

3. Import the Mary Poppins footage from groupshares

4. Drag each clip to the timeline one at a time: You will have 4 total clips. CUT OUT THE TITLES

  • Books
  • Blocks
  • Laundry
  • Table

5. Reverse the Video Footage

  • Select the clip that you want to reverse
  • Go up to the speedometer icon & select it
  • Place the check mark where it says reverse

6. (if needed) Change the speed if/when needed

  • Go up to the speedometer icon
  • Choose the dropdown menu and select the speed of your choice (adjust accordingly)

7. Add a NEW 4 second background before each reversed clip (any background color other than black)

8. Place a title over top of the 4 backgrounds. Make sure the title is 4 seconds long (as long as the background title)

Use these words on each title:

      • Books
      • Blocks
      • Laundry
      • Table

9. Add a background soundtrack

10. Add sound effects to the motions in the video (the magical parts)

11. Save to your Documents folder

  • Share > File

12. Upload your file to schoology (Mary Poppins Reverse)

8. Bring the quicktime into Livetype

  • File > Place Background Movie
  • Add magical effects (example: pixie dust)
  • BE creative, the more creative you are with objects and effects the better your grade will be!

9. Export as a quicktime: File > Render Movie √ render background

  • name it: Mary PoppinsLT-lastname

10. Drag the QUICKTIME file into Soundtrack Pro

  • Add a background soundtrack
  • Add sound effects that go along with the MAGIC that is happening
  • BE creative, the more creative you are with sound the better your grade will be!

11. Create a quicktime video: File > Export > With Compressor

  • Name it: MaryPoppinsSTP-lastname
  • Save it: Teacher's Desk
