Each week, there will be individual needs and unique editing challenges, however in general, this is what a week in photography class will be like:

*All projects must be turned in to GROUPSHARES & SCHOOLOGY as jpeg files.

IMPORTING

CONTACT SHEET

DAY 1:

5. Upload the file to schoology: Contact-lastname (pdf file)

• NOTE: you must go to schoology.generalmclane.org

DAY 2:

1. HOW TO GUIDE FOR DAY 2: Choose-Crop-Save
2. Log into schoology (on your iPad), check the annotation & suggestions that have been made on your contact sheet
   1. HOW TO READ YOUR CONTACT SHEET FEEDBACK
3. Choose 2 of your favorite photos from the contact sheet
   1. You DO NOT have to choose the same one's that Mrs. Hodas circles
   2. Be sure to pick the two photos that you feel BEST meet the requirements
4. Find your favorite two photos from the Photos program
5. Export your favorite two photos from the Photos program
6. Crop photos to 5"x7" or 7"x5" (you are only allowed to crop up to 10% of the photo out, leaving the composition similar to how it was captured thought the camera).
7. Save each of the two cropped files as jpegs with this name:
   1. ASOOCassignmentname-yourlastname example: ASOOCcontrast-hodas
   2. BSOOCassignmentname-yourlastname
      • SOOC = Straight Out Of the Camera (Unedited)
      • Must be jpeg format
8. Work on in class assignment for the week

DAY 3:

1. Begin Processing your SOOC photos for the week
   1. Follow editing checklist <-- click here
2. Previous Week's photo will be printed and displayed
3. Class Critique of previous week's lesson
   • Meaningful participation during the critique is required
   • If you are absent during the critique, you will need to submit a written critique
4. Continue to post-process the photos from this week
5. Turn in your 2 processed photos

Turn in 2 clean edits photos as jpeg files

1. ACLEANassignmentname-lastname
2. BCLEANassignmentname-lastname

Wednesday (day 3) or Thursday (day 4) , the new weekend assignment will be given

DAY 4:

1. Finish 2 processed photos, turn them in as as jpeg files
   1. ACLEANassignmentname-lastname
   2. BCLEANassignmentname-lastname
2. Experiment with color actions, overlays, and textures on your 2 processed photos
   • Save the Experimental / Artistic as:
     1. Aartisticlastname (jpeg format)
     2. Bartistic-lastname (jpeg format)
   • Processed/CLEAN and Artistic/Experimental photos are due by the end of class on Friday (day 5)

Wednesday (day 3) or Thursday (day 4) , the new weekend assignment will be given

DAY 5:

1. Review weekend assignment
2. All photos* (6 jpeg files) from previous weekend due. Place all 6 into Groupshares
   1. ASOOCassignmentname-lastname
   2. BSOOCassignmentname-lastname
   3. ACLEANassignmentname-lastname
   4. BCLEANassignmentname-lastname
   5. Aartistic-lastname
   6. Bartisticlastname
3. Decide which 2 (from the list of 6) that you like best.
4. These 2 will be printed and graded. You need 1 "A" version and 1 "B" version
5. Open 2 Finder Windows.
   1. Navigate to your documents folder
   2. Navigate to groupshares > assignment folder
6. Copy your favorite version of A
   1. Paste your favorite version of A into the PRINT folder in Groupshares
7. Copy your favorite version of B
   1. Paste your favorite version of B into the PRINT folder in Groupshares
8. WE WILL NOT CALL THESE your "PRINTS" for the week

SCHOOLOGY: MUST be jpeg format

1. MEDIA GALLERY
   1. Submit your 2 "prints" to your The Schoology Media Gallery for this assignment:
2. PHOTOGRAPHY PORTFOLIO
   1. Submit to your Schoology Portfolio including your favorite edits from this week.
   2. You are required to submit 2 photos each week
3. ASSIGNMENT SUBMISSION
   1. Submit your 2 "prints" to Schoology's Assignment Folder
      1. A assignment (submit 1)
      2. B assignment (submit 1)

Are you Finished Early? Here's what you can work on:

1. Build your portfolio ( you will be required to have a portfolio at the end of the course)
2. Work on building your PHOTOGRAPHY pinterest boards
3. Experiment in the studio (room 104)

Here's what you can NOT work on:

DO NOT: play games,

DO NOT: surf the internet,

DO NOT: use Pinterest for personal "interests",

DO NOT: do other homework

DO NOT: sleep

DO NOT: sit and talk to friends
