YOUR ASSIGNMENT:
Contrast Photography (watch video below)
- 25+ photos
- FIND an interesting SUBJECT (focus & focal point) that is in STARK CONTRAST to the background
- WAYS TO CREATE CONTRAST:
- refer to your notes
- Tonal Contrast (light and dark tones)
- Color Contrast (warm vs light tones ---or--- opposite colors on the color wheel)
- Size Contrast (small vs big---- or----- big vs small)
- Sharpness Contrast (one object in focus, everything else out of focus)
- Shape Contrast (one object is a different shape than the rest of the items in the image)
- Texture Contrast (one object is smooth vs rough)
- refer to your notes
- WAYS TO CREATE CONTRAST:
- Outdoors
- No Flash
- Think "minimalism" -Get Close (consider MACRO MODE)
- Reduce Clutter
- BE SURE that your FOCAL point (subject) is in FOCUS, set the FOCUS point!

Contrast1:
begin with LEVELS, and UNSHARP MASK
then Use Dodge, Burn, Saturate, Desaturate,
SAVE AS: Contrast1-lastname
FORMAT: jpeg
Contrast2:
Apply a texture to CONTRAST2
then Remove the texture from the focal point
SAVE AS: Contrast2-lastname
FORMAT: jpeg
