8. Once Was

Rusty ol cars/equipment make for fabulous photographs.

Look at something that at some point in time was polished to a shine, smooth and the color was homogenous. The owner was, no doubt, proud and excited to call it his/hers.

But natural elements had other plans for it, slowly morphing it into something no one now cares about.

Gone is the luster, nature replacing it with mottled splotches. Gone too is the slick surface, now covered by raised areas of rust.

The transformation was insidious resulting in a great subject for the camera lens, its sole purpose now as it lays in an imperceptibly slow decline.
