6. Theme Photography

Theme Project:

You are going to take a series of photos (minimum of 12 beautiful captures) based on one theme. The theme should be something that you LOVE, and have some experience in photographing. This will be the MAJOR PROJECT of the Term. You will use these photos to showcase yourself, your style, and you as an artistic photographer. Photos cannot be composites (meaning, assembled in photoshop). Your time and dedication to your theme will determine your final, overall photo grade. This is your time to SHINE, to be unique and do the style of photography that YOU like to do. The theme will be assessed on the same requirements as most assignments, however the 12 final photos should be flawless. You may take 100 photos just to get those 12 great photos completed. Your grade will also be based on the level of difficulty, approach, and creativity. Overall it will be graded on how well the photos portray the theme, and how well it showcases you as a semi-professional photographer.

• NOT ALLOWED:
  1. You may not submit any theme photos that have been used or will be used for previous or future photography assignments
  2. The photos MUST be NEWLY taken, the metadata need to read that you have taken these photos AFTER your theme proposal has been approved by Mrs. Hodas
  3. Avoid: "photo one-like" themes, such as: FLOWERS unless you have a VERY UNIQUE idea and approach to these themes.

Preparing for your theme:

1. Submit a theme proposal: CLICK HERE

2. Create a grid of 12 photographs that represent your theme.

• All 12 photos need to have been taken by a professional photographer
• All 12 photos need to be high resolution
• If you have Pinterest, you may submit a PDF copy of your Pinterest page
• If you do not have Pinterest, use pages (or a similar program) to assemble all 12 photos on one page

3. You will be responsible for researching HOW to create these photos.
